This movie is about the holocaust in Nazi Germany. It focuses on a german soldier and his family, but mostly on his only son. The family moves to a new home near a Jewish work camp where the father oversees operations, and the boy must cope with being separated from his school, friends, and other children. He eventually explores and finds his way to the work camp fence and finds a boy in “striped pajamas” on the other side whom he befriends.

What threw me off about this movie is that EVERYONE had british accents. Regardless, it did a good job at portraying the effects of the holocaust and the war had on everyone involved. A good film, but not great.

Up is the latest animated movie out from Pixar, and although the title is simple and it seems like another gimmick movie to go see in 3D, trust me that it is so much more. I heard that the fist ten minutes will bring you to tears, and that’s no joke.

The running theme throughout the movie is ‘adventure’, and after watching this film you definitely get the urge to go out and have one. I think this 101 achievements list is a nice way to seek out my own adventures :-) . Go see Up!

This is the third in the trilogy of Star Trek, which is the conclusion of the second movie, Wrath of Khan. I enjoyed this film’s humor and the story was decent. It had a slightly more modern feel to it than Wrath of Khan. I watched it mainly to see how the story concluded. I think I will watch a few of the newer Star Trek movies with Captain James Luc Picard :-) .

Achievement unlocked when: I attend a geocaching event.

I believe that to be a “real” geocacher, I should go to at least one geocaching event. There are plenty going on around my area, and it would be a great weekend adventure. Plus I could meet cool new people!

While in Chicago visiting a friend, Tara and I went to the Lincoln Park Zoo! We went rather late in the day and all the animals were winding down for nap time. We only got to spend about an hour there, but we did see some neat animals none-the-less. We will definitely have to go to a zoo again, and this time earlier in the day!

Tara and I watched The Wrath of Khan, a classic Star Trek movie. I was inspired to watch some of the old classics by the new Star Trek movie that’s out now.

Most, if not all, Trekkies agree Wrath of Khan is the best Star Trek movie. While the special effects and soundtrack pale in comparision to the new update, the story is great. There are plenty of great lines and it closely ties into the next movie in the series. Can’t wait to watch the next one!

Achievement unlocked when: I spend at least an hour per week cleaning around the apartment.

I really should work harder at keeping my place clean. It’s so hard without a dishwasher. At least I have a Roomba :-) .

Achievement unlocked when: I visit a state that I have never been to before.

It would be good to expand my horizons. There are plenty of states I can choose from, but there are quite a few that I have visited nearby!

Achievement unlocked when: I post 3 comments on other blogs each week.

Comments are fun to get (normally) so I figure I would pay it forward.

Achievement unlocked when: I make at least two postings on my blog Geek Articles www.bluefox864.blogspot.com.

I use that blog to post tips and tricks for computers and general geeky humor. I should be more active with it.
